The Writers Journey
Announcing: Secrets Cafe, The Main Course!
Book Two in the Secrets Cafe Saga will launch on August 26th. It is currently available for preorder on Amazon (Kindle edition), Barnes and Noble (E-book and paperback), and the Wild Rose Press book site.
Heads up, though, this book ends with a cliffhanger. So be prepared.
Book one, The Appetizer, introduced the characters, the setting, and the situation. In a nutshell, Georgia Charles dates a young mistake who calls herself Secret and says everything right but does not follow through. When Georgia breaks things off, she decides to write her revenge. It's good therapy. She goes to Secrets Cafe and picks out some random people to base her characters on. Mike is recently divorced and paying people to eat food suggestively while having random sex with men. Elan works as a waitress at the Cafe. When she arrives at work, her heart is broken. She doesn't think she will ever love anyone. Nina is a cougar on the prowl, and her prey, a handsome man she passed on the street, has taken the bait and followed her inside. Todd is a musician and barista. He has a dream, a magical ability with music, and a broken heart.
The Appetizer introduces them all and weaves them together with a common thread.
Secrets Cafe, The Main Course, continues the story. Georgia attends another of Janet and Lori's Christmas Parties, but this time, she has sex with a piano player. Mike decides it is high time to come out of the closet and tells his sister first. She dares him to seek out his first crush, the famous drag queen Karina Fire. He dares her to tell Todd, the barista/musician the truth. Nina is spending far too much time with the hot and sexy Carlos. He doesn't match her list of perfection. She needs to break things off with him. Elan and Jess are in love. Life is a beautiful bed of roses for them. Todd is preparing for round two of the battle of the bands. It appears everything is a blissful happy ride, but ... Secret, the manipulative mistake Georgia broke up with, has other ideas. Paybacks are a bitch, right? And Secret is out for revenge.
What is the old saying about revenge? It's a dish best served cold. Well, in the case of "The Main Course," it's a dish best served spicy and hot.
I could tell you more about the book, but ... I think you should read it and find out for yourself. ;)
Writing a book has been a dream of mine since I was a child. I am looking forward to holding my second novel in my hands and to readers enjoying a story I have labored over and love. I hope you enjoy it, leave a review when you finish it, and help spread the word.
Thank you,
Gina G
